Tropical Storm Chris set to miss Cancun

Just heard on the TV that meteorologists are keeping a close eye on Tropical Strom Chris which is developing some way off to the South West. With Hurricane Wilma still very much in everyones memory here in Cancun any potential hurricane is closely monitored.

Right now it looks like it’s going to miss Cancun by a good margin. Although, Cancun will probably see some showers as a result maybe over the weekend. It is likely to strengthen a little from the 45mph winds it currently has but maybe not reach Hurricane force.

More severe weather will probably be encountered in Puerto Rico, the Caribbean Islands such as Cuba, Bermuda, Antigua etc with it looking like making landfall in Southern Florida. Here’s the 5 day tracking map.
