Latest Cancuncare Google Rankings
July 21, 2006 on 11:58 pm | In All, Web Work |I was checking Google tonight as I do quite frequently to find out my latest search engine rankings. On a Friday night, I probably should have been at Corona Bar, La Taberna or some other bar in cancun, but I’ve hardly left the house since we got back from vacation.
Google is reponsible for 66% of the visitors to the main website, and is the foremost search engine you should optimise for.
For the term ‘Cancun Vacation’ we get the #1 spot out of 17.8 million results returned, we also get #1 for the plural ‘Cancun Vacations’ out of 14.9 million results. In both cases we beat Trip Advisor into second place. I really can’t complain at that, can I?
For the message board, there are two main terms that are important,
The first term is ‘Cancun Message Board’, from 2.3 million results returned we get both #1 and #2, again beating Trip Advisor. The second term I aim for is ‘Cancun Forum’, we have place #3 with Trip Advisor holding #1 and #2 from 11.1 million results.
The weird thing about the number of results for each is that more people search for ’cancun message board’ than they do ‘cancun forum’, or so Wordtracker says. But judging by the number of results returned ‘forum’ is a more popular term for webmasters to choose.
Lots of other more #1’s we have too, but I don’t want to bore you to death, so here’s just one example of one of the tours we sell.
A good one we have is for the Captain Hook Pirate Ship Tour, in almost any combination of search terms we get either #1 or #2 in Google, and sometimes both, from either Cancuncare or one of my other simple sites Pirateshipcancun.com.
Today on a Friday, which is normally a quiet day of the week, we got 4 sales totalling 10 people for the Captain Hook Tour - that will make around $70 in commission.
But, the best thing is that people who have reserved that Cancun tour have not paid any extra for it because they used my sites to book. They probably saved a little too on what they may have paid had they booked once in Cancun.
Google is good!

Interesting topic… I’m working in this industry myself and I don’t agree about this in 100%, but I added your page to my bookmarks and hope to see more interesting articles in the future
